WC2010 is going to be something else. The Egyptians aren't taking the loss very well.
"We should treat Algeria like any country that has declared war on us," university student Amr Higazi told Agence France Presse.

NEWS!

Russia bans Death Penalty

So much for cold blooded killers that people assume Russians are. I meant to say The Russian. They apparently need a prefix because they're commies right?
Well done I say.

Cyber Warfare???!?!?!

Trippy stuff. Its to be expecting. I'm kind of wondering though as we move into the world dreamed up by Science Fiction. Whats the next level of Science Fiction going to be?

Protest Nothing

Most of the performance was a bust, didn't get too much of a rise out of people. I guess the relaxing Saturday atmosphere just left them to ponder and stare. If there was I next time I might do more to get the cameras away from visibility because i noticed people who wanted to do something but then saw the cameras. Also I'd make sure my camera men don't tell people that its a "performance art piece". Also I'd find a better pose, the one I was in had me close to tears after 30 minutes. The good part though was I did manage to hold the pose fairly well and not respond in any way to anything going on.
And the outfit looked alright on camera.

Just want to say still Thanks to all the people who helped out. You know who you are.

News!

Medvedev calls for reform
Looks like Russia's going to become a force of nature again. Great idea from Medvedev. I'm not sure however if this will be taken well. However it should spill over democratic ideals to the other systems in place in Russia and maybe lead to reparations for former Russian satellites. It could be great for Eastern Europe altogether.

Protest Nothing

Protest nothing! The outfit is set now all I need is the sign. The location will probably be at the Diag this Friday or near Ulrich's Saturday.

Inspired by this brave man.

I will sit and protest nothing for 4-5 hrs however long I can stay there. I will have a blank picket sign. And I will not speak to anyone the entire time.

ZANU PF continues unjust trials

Just when you think Mugabe's regime can't get anymore ridiculous they do things like this. Accusing a man who had been abused, and tortured of terrorism. Just as he is about to become Deputy Minister of Agriculture. The countries main source of money. Where he is sorely needed to turn around the corrupt practice of previous government.

Hillary Clinton on Russia

Clinton pressuring Russia

Funny she says, the US won't meddle when it seems this is exactly it. You can't strong arm an entire nation. Especially into putting themselves in a situation they are not part of.

How Hip Hop took over the World

I like hip-hop and risk sounding rather shallow, but its popularity has in many ways made it lose its purpose. This article says its a medium for change, but most people don't look beyond the face value. Which would involve money, women and power.

Pencil Test #4

Pencil Test #3

News!

So I've missed essentially the week in news. I will try to catch up somewhat and follow up on some stories.
INLA: "Armed Struggle is over"

Drought In Kenya threatens Economy
One would think that in this modern day someone would devise some sort of mechanism to help people like this who suffer from droughts seasonally.

Stem Cell Breakthrough
Its a very touchy subject for many people but I believe stem cell research is an excellent idea, as long as its kept in check.

Obama and Afghanistan
Obama's been receiving heavy criticism for his handling of Afghanistan and Iraq. I think that people should understand that its equally irresponsible to just pack up and leave, as it is to perpetuate the war. He seems to follow the idea of Machiavelli's Prince. He will do whatever is necessary to ensure the greater good, for EVERYONE, not just America.

Financial troubles in Zimbabwe

Gideon Gono the minister of economy is continuing to show ineptitude. It is well known among Zimbabweans that he didn't actually earn his Master's degree in Economics because he had someone else write his dissertation. Meanwhile a family friend of mine Mr. Tendai Biti, has been part of the MDC trying to balance the Economy of the country which has suffered heavily under Mugabe.

Ayatollah Khamenei releases a statement.

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of Islam.

An interesting situation, has been created by President Obamas decision to stop the developement of the European Nuclear Defense system. He has openly made a gesture of friendship. Its a show of trust that should result in a more open relationship with the middle east. Since the Iraq war the issues of the Middle East have become a world wide topic. But we can't solve any problems if everyone is further polarizing the issue. What needs to happen is a changing of the image the rest of the world has of America as a warmonger. In order to do that, America must in fact stop be a warmonger

Caster Semenya Apology Issued

Sarkozy at G20

Calls for UK aide to Calais Refugees

The UN wants the UK to grant entry to some of the immigrants being moved out of 'the Jungle' Which is now to be closed down by the French government. The issue for most of these people will be where to go next, and it seems they will be spread across Europe wherever they may be permitted.

Speaking of Improvisation.

Check out Sergio Altamura, improvising with a guitar. Absolutely insane sounding.

Calais Migrant Camp.

The trouble with seeking Asylum is that it can usually only be done through your communication with outside nations government organizations, Which is usually impossible for most people in situations where they would need to seek Asylum. France has a very large immigrant population, most from north africa (via Spain, or the mediterranean) or the Middle East. Making xenophobia a prime concern there. Places like 'The Jungle' allow these immigrants to find people in a similiar situation but unfortunately it does not weed out, criminals or disease. Its a dangerous place to be, but the only choice for many.

Somalia: Continued strife.

Already being a struggling with a basically nonexistent government. Extreme Poverty, a hub for weapons trade to most of Africa. Somalia now harbors figures from many criminal and terrorist organizations. Which is a shame, because it is left in the same sort of situation as Afghanistan was, but with no hope of real change. Though the US and UN have been there for quite some time.
